Christina Schallock came to Mallorca in the late 1990s as manager of the Pollensa Golf Club and quickly fell in love with the magical island. From her office window she had a wonderful view of the rolling hills and the breathtaking landscape of Mallorca's north.
To own a little piece of paradise yourself, this longing grew stronger and stronger with Christina Schallock. She quickly made the decision to make this dream come true. Seven hectares, partly stony Mallorcan land, soon belonged to her. To turn it into a winery was still a long way off at the time. For Christina Schallock, however, vines simply belong in the island landscape. So she decided to start growing wine on three hectares of her property.
With professional help, she obtained the necessary vines, partly in Italy, but mainly in the relevant regions of Mallorca.
For the red wine: The grapes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and the venerable, old Syrah.
For white wine: Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Her idea was that the grapes should be given to local wine producers if, in return, they would take part in the care of the exceptionally mineral-rich soil and the vines and take care of the harvest - and in the end maybe had a few bottles left for them . No thought of owning a bodega at this point.
But it turned out differently. Because the requirements of Christina Schallock for the cultivation and processing of the grapes did not coincide with the local ideas and so Christina Schallock quickly changed his mind.
She got into winemaking herself. With the help of your cellar master and a good portion of ambition and self-confidence, a small and efficient production facility with the latest cellar technology was created.
Today Christina Schallock runs the winery according to her own high standards.
